It is clear in the story of the Ten Commandments, the importance of being obedient to God. To trust and obey is a key factor to a successful Christian lifestyle for blessed are those who obey God! Submission should be a result of “love”, and yet the world often makes us submit out of “fear”, a fear of punishment and consequences If you don’t give in. People don’t always understand why it is necessary to obey God and It is hard to understand the teachings of the Bible to obey one another. Even towards those we love, we often surrender to power than in love.
Praise the Lord! He did not subdue us to Him with His authority and divine power. When Jesus was alive, he led a life of humility and obedience as an example for Christians. Calling us to a life of obedience by surrendering our control in life, our own will and preferences to the Lord.
When I was designing this painting, I struggled with how to display the meaning of “obedience”. The biblical obedience to God means to “hear, trust, submit and surrender to God and his Word.” This verse reminded me of the smart and loyal corgi. Ha ha! That’s right! This is my first time painting my favorite corgi in watercolor, do you like his expression when he’s listening attentively, and deciding how to follow the next commands from his owner?
