”And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you forever” — John 14:16(KJV)
When I think about our God, our everlasting comforter, I see this image of a bear offering a little girl with a “bear hug.” Yes! That’s the warmth and security we get from our heavenly Father!
Children need the loving affection of their parents to feel emotionally secure, and hugging build trust and a deep sense of safety. Besides parent’s hugs, little ones love their cuddly stuffed animals. As we grow older, the search for comfort never stops. Instead, we seek a sense of security more.
Medical research shows that hugging is excellent for boosting immunity. So hugs provide healing benefits both physically and emotionally!
“May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
Our parents, our teddy bears are not everlasting, but God promised that He is our forever comfort!
