Stay Focused on Your Own Path

It takes a lot of courage for me to “stay on my path.” It includes openly sharing my faith online. Often, we are worried about what others would think about us.

Last week, I attended the Tough Mudder race with a group of friends. As a rookie Mudder, whose fitness level is quite low, some obstacles looks very challenging to me.

However, a thought came to me in the middle of the race: since I am here, I still want to try even though I could fail. At least I tried, what worse can it be? I did fail and accidentally swallowed muddy water lol, but it was fun!

We may find it challenging to overcome the fear of failure, fear of loneliness, and being different. But believing in yourself and sticking to the path you’re called for regardless of what others think is a beautiful feeling and worth trying.

Others are not so concerned about our performance as we thought they do. Just set a goal and then focus on the next small, tangible milestone. We all learn from mistakes and failures, so don’t give up until you reach the end.

As Christians, do we have the courage to persist in the path that pleases God?

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—
his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
– Romans 12:2
