As the Deer

I went to Nara, Japan in June this year, and I got a chance to have a closer look at the deer, watching them resting at peace in the shade of trees.

When I approached the deer, they are not shy away from humans. It was a peaceful and healing experience and reminded me of this verse in Psalm:

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. (Psalm 42:1)

In the original text, fallow deer (Dama dama) symbolizes grace, joy, and freedom.
I hope this painting recreates the same peace in your heart. May you run and not go weary, walk and not be faint.
