Autumn Grace

Autumn is a season of great harvest and gratitude. Thanksgiving is a US holiday for family reunions, and it is a time to thank our Lord for His abundance of grace and blessings to us. Some people say that autumn is a season of nostalgia, and others say it is a season of joy. I was born in the fall and love everything that belongs to autumn. I like any orange colored fruits and vegetables that ripen in the fall. I especially love the colors of red maple and golden ginkgo, the charming golden yellow; the falling leaves that dance elegantly in the bleak autumn wind before they dissipate.

In addition to praising the beauty and romance of autumn, the most important thing is to be grateful and thankful in this season of joy and thanksgiving. Remember to count the grace that God has given you, not that of others! Life is uncertain and momentary, there are too many unpredictable factors. Be thankful for the difficulties and challenges that the Lord has helped you through this past year. Give thanks for the stormy predicaments along the way which teach us to be positive, gentle and persevering. Give thanks to every sincere smile that made us feel happy and warm, and learn to be kind. Be grateful for every missed opportunity, so we may learn to cherish all that we have. Be grateful for every encounter, so we may look forward to more happiness. Because of gratitude, life can always be beautiful and magnificent.

Every Thanksgiving has been a very special day for me to reflect on the past year. No matter if it was receiving grace from the Lord, a heartbreaking separation, or a lovely encounter, they were all profound remarks in my life. Painting this “Autumn grace” is to show the Lord my sincerest gratitude and love. I decide to break through my painting style and try the abstract painting to express my heartfelt feeling for autumn grace. I used ginkgo golden, mapple red, avocado yellow, and olive green as the theme color to express the colorful autumn leaves. The Blue represents a lake being surrounded by the colorful autumn forest. Do you see a big bird? It represents an indispensable turkey for Thanksgiving. The small colorful blocks on both left and right sides represent the challenges, sadness, and joy that we have gone through in the year. I hope this new style of abstract painting brings you different visual experiences and more inspiration about autumn grace.
